You start by watching what you eat, getting more exercise, and controlling your weight. If you are self-disciplined and actually work to accept healthy lifestyle habits, then you will control the disease before it controls you.
if you are NOT self-disciplined , then the disease will control you, and you will need all sorts of pills (diabetic pills, heart medications, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc) and maybe even insulin injections.
It is up to YOU. Develop self-discipline and healthy lifestyle habits, or die early and in pain from diabetic complications.
i believe the right diet and exercise is key
You can’t completely cut out carbs or calories because they are in all foods and they are what your body burns to keep your muscles running. Cut out most of the sugar in your diet like pop, candy, chocolate, take vitamins and start counting calories. The average man should eat around 2400 calories per day the average women about 2000. Drink lots of water because when you feel yourself getting hungry if you fill your stomach with water that is no calories and makes you feel more full plus it flushes out your system. Watch your salt although like carbs and calories you need a good amount of salt to keep your water and not become dehydrated. You should also buy smaller plates and bowles so that you think you ate more than you actually did. It actually helps a lot if you have a phscological addition to food. You should jog to boost your metabolism and burn calories and lose water weight. If you can’t jog for long without it becoming very difficult or painful, walk then work your way up to jogging as your body gets stronger.
Keep a food diary
Writing down what you eat and drink and any thoughts linked to that eating helps you become more aware of your eating habits and problem areas. Recognising what is going on and understanding more about yourself is a powerful way to start planning changes to your diet and puts you in control.
