I have the 4 year aged who drinks excessively as well as goes to the lavatory frequently, as well as he doesn’t similar to to eat. we took him to the dr as well as they did the urine representation as well as pronounced there was no glucose in his urine. we am not certain if glucose regularly shows up in urine with JD or if we should have them do the red blood exam as well as things to endorse which he doesn’t have it. Please any one with advice, assistance me!!

There are 2 suggestions to question “If a child has Juvenile Diabetes does glucose always show up in a urine sample?”

  1. glucose will show up in the urine when blood sugar is above 200 for most people. The body gets so much glucose in the blood stream that it starts purging it out into the urine. If your child had no glucose in his urine. It is unlikely that he has diabetes. if he were getting excessive thirst and other symptoms due to diabetes his blood sugar would be way over 200. It can’t really hurt to use a glucose meter and check him (these are available over the counter at any drug store). But I would think if his urine had no glucose, you’re pretty safe

  2. If his symptoms were due to undiagnosed diabetes, there would be glucose in his urine. If thirst and urination are his only symptoms, I wouldn’t worry yet. Type 1 diabetes is not as subtle as type 2, your son would be sick and vomiting if he had type 1.
