is it true that removal of the duodenum is a cure for diabetes?

I have listened which it is finished in Europe as well as it cures a disease.

There are 6 suggestions to question “is it true that removal of the duodenum is a cure for diabetes?”

  1. Nope.
Who ever told you that one is spinning you a yarn

  2. NO WAY
    WHAT A CROCK
The duodenum is part of your stomach. It’s the pancreas that makes insulin. Completely different organ.
    Someone’s pulling your chain.

  3. In a way, there is almost a bit of truth to this but only vaguely. This might be an extreme treatment for people who have type II insulin dependence primarily because they are overweight and cannot lose weight. Shrinking the stomach is a way to ensure that you cannot eat so much and most people lose weight; you would also be prone to malnutrition this way for the rest of your life, even after the diabetes subsided. And it would only subside IF the person lost weight and their insulin production was still intact and useful for the body’s cells.

  4. Although I am an attorney and not a doctor, I have been a diabetic for over 37 years, I have two children who have been diagnosed with diabetes and I have never heard of the duodenum having anything at all to do with diabetes.

  5. diabetes is caused by the body’s inability to regulate the insulin/sugar balance. that is regulated primarily by the pancreas but also in the liver.
the duodenum is a part of the stomach, and really doesn’t have anything to do with that; I’m not sure how that would affect it.

also the above answer is complete spam, which makes me grrr

  6. Actually that is true. I just finished nursing school and we learned about that. I don’t know all of the details, try to look it up on the internet.
