Hypo- (hypoglycemia) manifests with dizziness, drowsiness, tingling of extremities and - if not treated - develops into tremors, slurred speech, disorientation and finally hypoglycemic coma. Yet, gestational diabetes is usually a mild form of diabetes and is treated mostly with diet control alone. Hypoglycemia usually results from receiving anti-diabetic drugs (oral hypoglycemics or insulin) and dropping the next meal. The simplest management is to take something sugary once symptoms start and to keep a companion nearby in case loss of consciousness occurred. Always remember that some increase in blood sugar is safer than hypoglycemia if you are not sure what exactly you are going through. In addition, devices are now available that allow you to measure your blood sugar at home with a small prick.

It changes. Right now my mouth goes numb like at the dentist when low, at other times my vision gets blurry and I can not concentrate. Pay attention to how you feel and what is normal for you, if anything seems out of the ordinary, check your blood sugar, which is the only way to really know.
