There are 4 suggestions to question “where do I get diabetic shoes if not on medicare and on disability?”

  1. get shoes that are big enough so they don’t put pressure on your feet. Well fitting, but do not have to be "diabetic" as these are all made in China currently and don’t appearantly fit anyone!!

Wear socks that fit properly! they are snug enough that they don’t wrinkle in your shoes and make sores on your feet.

I just found some shoes that are great! They have the currently fashionable boxy toe and fit really nicely. I found them at a discount shoe store. They are a knockoff of a major brand of shoes that would cost around $75. Diabetic shoes cost around $500, so just go shopping and see what you can find.

See the doctor about the swelling in your feet as this is a sign of heart problems!!!

  2. Do you have State Medicaid? If you do, then call Medicare at 1-800-MED-ICARE because I’m 30 and have Medicare. The way I was able to swing that is I found out that people on Disability who have State Medicaid (I live in California and have Medi-Cal) will qualify for Medicare earlier than Senior Citizen age as long as they have a qualifying disability. So call Medicare and talk to one of their eligibility people to find out if your specific disability is on that list (assuming you’re already on State Medicaid too.)

If you don’t qualify to add Medicare the way I suggested, then check out Sterling Medical Services (www.sterlingmedical.com) who has a lot of various medical supplies and has a form to fill out on their website so the insurance you DO have can be billed. If you don’t have insurance and want to private pay – or if your insurance won’t pay, and therefore you have to pay anyway (I checked into this for a situation I’m facing) go to their contact us page and call their toll-free number for placing orders by phone. I’m sure they’ll have what you need. If not, check out Google Shopping. (Just go to Google and across the top, click the "More" drop-down link, then click Shopping. On the next page that loads is where you type in what you’re looking for.

  3. No such thing as diabetic shoe duh

  4. You buy them.
